On the New Balance 1300JP

a pretty cool shoe..

i was originally enamored with the New Balance 1300JP. reading up on it on sites like High Snobiety, i loved the idea of one shoe you could wear for the rest of your life. the fact that the shoe is a faithful recreation of its original form, it's like a vintage watch or car.

to me, owning this shoe was a declaration that I don't give into trends and am willing to invest in something that was never broken and never will break.

i'm thinking these days though, am i really into that kind of exact recreation? don't think i'm really a futurist, but i do think that a heart for recreation involves a yearning for the past, in a way. my heart's not often in the past.
